The Diesel Technology program at Northeastern’s Applied Technology Campus has doubled in size over the past few years and now can’t keep up with prospective student demand. Space constraints limit future program enrollment.

The heavy-duty diesel repair industry continues to deal with shortages ofqualified technicians, and companies such as Daimler Trucks North America (Freightliner) support Northeastern in order to increase capable, skilled graduates they trust to hire. To meet projected workforce demands, the Diesel Technology program needs to expand beyond its current 9,180 square feet of space to accommodate additional truck bays, equipment and greater numbers of students. The proposed 24,277 square feet design would alleviate those space-constrained limitations.

Students of the Diesel Technology program have a completion rate of 90 percent, with most leading to immediate employment upon graduation. There is not another program in Colorado to compare this data to. Northeastern offers the only ASE Education Master-level accredited heavy duty truck program in the state of Colorado.
