Artist trading cards are original, self-produced miniature works of art that are 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches in size. Artists and genre enthusiasts create and trade these miniature works of art with other creators of cards.
Cards may be created with any type of art media, techniques and materials. These include drawings, paintings, collages, rubberstamp, photographs, mixed media, sewing, metalwork, assemblages, found images.
The traders in the "Art Trading Cards" exhibit first got together as a group 15 years ago, and now meet once a month to trade the miniature works of art. The group includes 35 individuals from all over the US, and the exhibition features 131 pieces of their work.
The “Art Trading Cards” exhibition will run through Friday, Sept. 13, with a closing reception that evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For additional information contact Professor William Ross by email at William.Ross@njc.edu.
