Mitch Harryman, a sophomore student in the automotive technology program at Northeastern Junior College has been honored for his academic work, having been named the recipient of the first NAPA Student of the Month Award for this 2010-2011 school year. He was presented the award in mid-October, for being chosen by faculty in the program as the September recipient.
This award program represents a long-standing partnership between the NJC auto training program and the NAPA Auto and Truck Parts store here in Sterling. Students are selected by the faculty for the award, and then honored by the store with the presentation of an engraved plague and a gift certificate.
Harryman, son of Jay and Cindy Harryman of the Willard area, says he looks forward to graduating from the program this coming May and plans to “get a job and make some money.” He plans to stay in a rural area and hopes to work in all areas of auto repair.
