TRIO SSS provides Grant Aid to eligible TRIO students each spring semester. 

To qualify a student must meet the following:

  • Be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant
  • Have an unmet need greater than the minimum Pell Grant amount
  • Complete at least 6 credit hours of coursework in the last semester attended. 
  • Be referred by an SSS staff member or NJC advisor
  • Have 3 or more contacts in the MLC or TRIO program

Applications must be received by Wednesday, April 16th at 11:59pm. 

Attach a 1-page narrative providing details about your immediate and long-term educational goals and any circumstances that are adversely affecting the attainment of your educational goals. Also, include any MLC and TRIO services that you have participated in and explain how you have benefited from them.

Status message

Northeastern Junior College Student Support Services (SSS) active student participants may be eligible to receive Federal Grant Aid during a given semester if each of the following are met:

  1. You are receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the semester that Grant Aid is requested.
  2. You have an unmet need greater than the minimum Pell Grant.
  3. You have completed at least 6 credit hours of coursework in the last semester attended.
  4. You are referred by an SSS staff member or NJC advisor.
  5. You have 3 or more contacts in the MLC.
