Certificate

The AG power equipment certificate allows the student to complete the required basic technical training needed in agriculture equipment service and repair while completing a sponsoring company’s specific training/certifications and internships. Upon successful completion of all required training courses and internship(s), the student will have the opportunity to become a full time employee with the sponsoring company.

Training in this certificate will be completed using the sponsors equipment makes, models, and tools supplied by the company.  Students registering for this certificate must be sponsored by an approved agriculture dealership or repair company  (Example: 21ST Century Equipment- John Deere).

Focuses on maintaining a safe and clean working heavy duty diesel shop. Emphasis is placed on the proper use and care for hand, electric, air, and hydraulic tools safely. Covers how to clean equipment properly, to handle and dispose of hazardous materials correctly, and to apply mandated regulations. Emphasis is also placed on proper lifting equipment. (1-2)

Focuses on the service of cylinder head, valve-train components, and cooling system components including engine removal, re-installation, and re-mounting systems. This course meets MLR/AST/MAST requirements. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ASE1001 with a "C" grade or better. (1-2)

Covers the operation, testing, maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy duty vehicle battery, starting, and charging systems including voltage drop testing and load testing.
