Paramedic
Northeastern Junior College's Paramedic program provides specific training for those interested in attaining the highest level of certification for a pre-hospital worker. The paramedic program trains students in high-level responsibilities such as:
- Loading heli-ambulance
- Patient stabilization
- Scene management
- Advanced life support procedures
- Patient transportation
The paramedic program also prepares students for the National Registry examination and Colorado state certification.
Students who successfully complete the program will receive a Northeastern Junior College Certificate of Occupational Proficiency and will be allowed to sit for the National Registry Paramedic Exam.

The Emergency Medical Provider (EMP) program is designed for students seeking careers in emergency medicine. This program provides students with the knowledge and skills required to function within the Emergency Medical Services System. Courses progress from EMT to Paramedic.
All programs meet or exceed the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment requirements for certification eligibility. All EMS courses must be taken as an emphasis block of instruction as indicated below.
Students must be EMT certified from another institution, or complete EMS 1021, EMS 1022, and EMS 1023, and EMS 1070 and earn the EMT Certificate at NJC. Enrollment in Paramedic level courses require Colorado EMT IV, CPR certifications and BIO 1006.

The Northeastern Junior College AEMT program has been issued a Letter of Review by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). This letter is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status, it is a status signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the accreditation standards through the Letter of Review Self-Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. Letter of Review is recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for eligibility to take the National Registry's Paramedic credentialing examination(s). However, it is NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.
