Student Ambassadors

Our Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for students who are dedicated to representing Northeastern.

This diverse group of student leaders possess an in-depth knowledge of the college; an incredible passion to share personal experiences enriched by Northeastern culture; and the ability to represent oneself as today's Plainsmen.

What does a student ambassador do?

  • Share their knowledge and personal experiences
  • Conduct campus tours for prospective students, schools, and guests
  • Represent Northeastern during college events such as Discovery Day, Registration Day, Move-in Day and Community Club Fair
  • Assist with duties and tasks related to various campus and community events
  • Assist with office related tasks
  • All other duties as assigned by Office of Admission staff

Student Ambassador Benefits

Student ambassadors develop a wide range of skills in leadership, communication, marketing and public relations. These skills, along with community involvement and service are factors that employers and universities look for on resumes and college applications. This diverse group of student leaders earn letters of recommendation and gain skills that will further their future education and career goals.

Becoming a Student Ambassador

Becoming a part of our ambassador team is a great way to get involved. The role of a student ambassador requires a commitment of time, energy and enthusiasm. This prestigious group of students represents the college in various settings and demonstrates leadership and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled Northeastern student
  • Must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours or be registered for 12 credit hours the quarter the position would begin
  • Must have a quarterly and cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0
  • Position has a one academic year commitment
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibit leadership, dependability and enthusiasm

Application Requirements:

  • Complete application
  • One professional letter of recommendation
  • Interview with Office of Admission staff

Candidates are chosen based on interpersonal skills, academic interests and performance, knowledge of the college, campus involvement, personal demeanor and overall desire to be involved and serve as a positive role model on campus.
