Northeastern Junior College 2024-2025 Catalog
Application Procedure
Priority for determining financial aid eligibility is given to those students whose completed applications are on file in the Financial Aid Office by March 1st of each year. The steps to applying for financial aid are as follows:
- Submit an Application for Admission to Northeastern. Financial aid awards are only offered to students who have been accepted for admission and are in an eligible degree and/or certificate program. Not all degree and certificate programs offered by Northeastern are eligible for financial aid.
- Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application is free and is available on the U.S. Department of Education’s website at Home | Federal Student Aid. To apply for the FAFSA, students must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. The FAFSA must be renewed by the student each succeeding school year. Colorado Resident students that are non-U.S. Citizens may submit a Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA). This application is free and is available on the Colorado Department of Education's website: Colorado Application for State Financial Aid | Higher Education. The CASFA must also be renewed by the student each succeeding school year.
- Financial aid applications will be accepted at any time during the school year, however funding sources may be limited for applications submitted after the March 1st priority date.
- Submit all required documentation to the Financial Aid Office as soon as requested. Financial aid awards will not be made until the required supporting documentation is complete. Financial aid award notifications for the fall semester are generally sent to students after March 1st and continue throughout the year.
- Submit Northeastern scholarship applications by the April 1st deadline. Our financial aid web page also displays numerous private scholarships opportunities. Financial Aid & Assistance | Northeastern Junior College (njc.edu)
