Social Media Guidelines
Guidelines for Requesting Social Media Support
The NJC Marketing and Communications Department provides social media support to all departments, programs, teams and other formal affiliations (i.e., NJC Foundation) as a form of marketing through NJC’s primary social media accounts.
Requesting Support
- Contact the NJC Social Media Coordinator at 970-521-6669 or at socialmarketing@njc.edu, and provide the following details:
- Type of request (e.g., video, storytelling opportunity, event, student/faculty success)
- Requested date for posting
- Content language
- Expected value/impact
- The Social Media Coordinator will work directly with the requestor to gather content assets, such as any photos, video, photo releases, etc., and provide a communication plan for the post (i.e., if it will be posted only to Facebook or more than one social media channel).
- All requests must be received at least seven working days before the requested post date. Exceptions will be granted at the discretion of the Director of Communications and Public Relations.
- If making a video request, the request must be received no less than four weeks before the requested post date.
- If making a photo request for social media, the request must be received no less than two weeks before the requested post date.
Types of Content
The overall goal and intent of NJC’s social media strategy is to create and support awareness of the college’s programs, culture and success stories through storytelling and engagement. This list is meant to be representative, not all inclusive:
- Program videos
- Event videos/photographs
- Student/alum success stories
- Employee success stories
- Update to facilities
- Deadlines for major events
- Student/community engagement opportunities
- Press releases
