Re-admission Policy and Transfer Policy

Re-admission Policy

Students who have attempted NJC’s nursing program in the past will be considered re-admits and will follow the readmit procedure below:

  1. Students will not be guaranteed admission but will go through the same competitive process for admission as all nursing applicants. All re-entries will be on a space available basis. There is no guarantee that a re-entry may occur.
    1. Students who have successfully completed NUR courses at NJC in a past admission will need to show continued competency by completing a Kaplan exam in the specific course content by scoring in the 65th percentile. If this score is not obtained, then the course will need to be repeated.
  • Note if the student has a LPN credential the first year course work is automatically accepted and Kaplan exams for 1st year course work is not needed.

Transfer Policy

Individual NUR courses maybe transferred to NJC if the course was taken within 3 years and the student proves competency by completing a Kaplan integrated test in the content area and scores at the 65th percentile. If a student does not score in the 65th percentile the course will not be transferred and the student will be required to take the course at NJC.
