Northeastern Adult and Community Education Center provides test preparation for GED with professionally trained and certified instructors.

High School Equivalency (GED) Preparation

The GED preparation classes provide the opportunity for students to improve their basic academic skills through focused skill-building courses in the following core subject areas: reading, writing, science, social studies and math.

Our program will meet you where you are in your educational goals and it will focus on the classes you need to succeed on your GED and earn your high school equivalency diploma.

GED Official Test cost: $43.50/Subject (4 subjects total)

  • Focus on workplace skills and/or college readiness.
  • Goal setting assistance.
  • Whole group, small group, and individualized instruction.
  • Pre-GED and GED instruction in math, reading, and writing subject areas.
  • Official GED practice tests.
  • College and Career Navigation.
  • Morning and evening classes.
  • College and Career Coaching/Tutoring available.
  • Classes offered in Sterling, CO, Yuma CO and Holyoke, CO (schedules may vary based on location).
  • Cost: FREE.

*Regular attendance is required and homework will be assigned.

Sterling, CO

  • Morning Session: 10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
  • Afternoon Session: 1:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
  • Evening session: we are not currently offering GED evening classes.

Holyoke, CO

Orientation and Registration

Orientation provides an overview of the Adult Education program, including class offerings, schedules, attendance requirements, and program expectations. Attendance at orientation is required before registration can be completed. Prospective students must call 970-521-6793 to sign up for an orientation session.

Sterling, CO

Fall 2026 orientation sessions will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, and Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each day. Please allow approximately 45 minutes for orientation. Registration, testing, and required paperwork will be scheduled following orientation. 

Holyoke, CO

Fall 2026 orientation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Registration, testing, and required paperwork will be scheduled following orientation.

Yuma, CO

Fall 2026 orientation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Registration, testing, and required paperwork will be scheduled following orientation.

For more information about the GED test, including test center locations, visit the GED Testing Service Website. You will be asked to register (i.e., provide some information about yourself) Once you have completed the registration, you will have access to a wide variety of information about the GED Test. Additionally, you will need to register on this website before taking any of your GED tests.
