Why did you choose Northeastern?
I chose Northeastern because it fits my life perfectly. I was able to take all my prerequisites online which was what I had to do so I could work full time and raise my three children. Now that I am in the nursing program and have to come to Sterling everyday, I like that my classes are right after another so my days are shorter and I am most always home in time for my kids to get out of school.
What do you like about your area of study?
I love taking care of people. Knowing that I have made a difference in a person's life or just made their day a little bit warms my heart. In the Nursing Program, we have lots of opportunities to explore the many different directions a nurse's career can go in. It is amazing how many different areas of nursing there are.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
After graduation I would like to take care of patients in a local hospital. I am looking forward to helping the people in my community receive good healthcare.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by the Nurse Practitioners that I worked with in the Holyoke Clinic. They all care greatly for their patients and spend a lot of time making sure they have the best healthcare. All three of them have the heart of a nurse and the knowledge of a provider.
What is your favorite memory at Northeastern?
My favorite memory of going to Northeastern is carpooling with my classmates. We became great friends and helped each other study for tests. It made the hour drive to and from school each day fly by.
