Applying for Aid
Get Started:
Submit a FAFSA if you are a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen / Submit a CASFA if you are a Colorado ASSET student and a non-U.S. citizen or non-resident
FAFSA
As part of the Application Process, you will fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Your Financial Aid award is based on a standard Federal formula that calculates the cost of attendance minus your family contribution. Family contribution takes into account family/student income, assets, age, family size, etc. FAFSA is a free application; please be aware that fraudulent websites exist.
School Code: 001361
Professional Judgement Form
If your family's financial situation is different than the income information reported on the FAFSA, you may be eligible to submit a Professional Judgement request: Professional Judgement Form
Since the FAFSA requires the tax and income data from 2-years prior, you may be able to use your most current or prior-year tax and income information if your financial circumstances have changed. You must first submit your FAFSA application to include the required 2023 tax information. Then you may submit a Professional Judgement review directly to the college, in which the financial aid advisors can update your FAFSA with the most current data that you provide. Circumstances that will be considered for review include the following:
- Loss or change in employment
- Other changes in income such as loss of child support, alimony, or one-time income
- High medical or dental expenses in excess of 11% of the adjusted gross income
