Freshmen students and staff from the diesel technology program at Northeastern are shown here with the JCB1440B backhoe which was recently donated to the program by a family from Breckenridge. The unit will be used as a teaching tool, allowing the students to rebuild what needs to be rebuilt and is especially helpful when learning about how hydraulics work.

Mahoney wins auto tech award at NJC

Representatives from Case IH, Wickham Tractor Company and the Colorado Young Farmers delivered a brand new Case IH 315 Magnum tractor to the diesel technology program at Northeastern Junior College last week. Students will spend three weeks preparing the tractor for delivery to farmers as part of the annual Colorado Young Farmers program that auctioned off blocks of hours of use of a brand new tractor to raise scholarship dollars for ag students.
